The former Flandria defender has signed for the team managed by his ex-Atlanta manager Sergio Rondina.
Matías Valdez, 23 years old, comes as a new reinforcement for Villa Dálmine’s strengthening this season, after having played for Flandria the last year (due to the parent club agreement between Lanús and Flandria). Under that same agreement, Valdez had gone on loan from 2011 to 2013 to Atlanta, where he was part of the promoted 2011 Atlanta side to the Nacional B. Valdez was, at the same time, relegated with Flandria to the Primera C category this last season.
Valdez’s signing comes in as a breath of fresh air in a roster where key players such as Ferreiro, Ferreyra and Raúl “Dudy” Perez have departed the club. Since 2015 (as the transitional tournament will not have any relegated teams) Villa Dálmine will have to struggle once again against relegation to Primera C.
