After the imminent non-renewal of his contract, Fernando Otarola has ceased to be the Chacarita.
And the search for a new goalkeeper for the San Martin didn’t take long: Chacarita have hired the former Aldosivi (Mar del Plata) goalie César Taborda (29 years old) on a free transfer as their new starter goalkeeper in a season for changes as they have parted ways with their manager Carlos “el Gatito” Leeb.
Before Independiente Rivadavia, Taborda had previous spells with teams such as Independiente Rivadavia (Mendoza, Argentina), O’ Higgins (Chile), and most of all, Estudiantes de La Plata, where he emerged from the Youth Teams and was the substitute goalkeeper for the 2010 Primera Division championship el león won.
Cesar Taborda comes as the second signing after Ferro’s striker Oscar Altamirano in a season where many of the big name players of Chacarita have left (as for Lentini and Otarola, who they are replacing) and where Fabian Itabel, Leeb’s assistant manager is taking over as the first team manager, and in which Chacarita will strive to end in the three first positions for promotion in the Transitional 6-month tournament.
