Alexis Canelo, off to Quilmes

The Almirante Brown midfielder has signed for the Primera División outfit.

Alexis Canelo, midfielder for La Fragata has signed this week to become a Quilmes player for the upcoming 2015 Primera División season. Canelo had been under the scouting-and-touting of clubs such as Gimnasia de La Plata and Racing Club, yet decided upon the firm interest of Quilmes.

Canelo has been an Almirante Brown player through his whole career from the youth teams, to his debut in Primera División in 2011 up until yesterday. The Tucumán-born player has grown to be a very well liked by the Fragata fans, who will deeply miss their starlet yet have now in place the Díaz brothers (Román and Rodrigo) to cope with for this season. It will be hard, as Almirante Brown are not away from the relegation positions this season and are in need of good results to keep themselves in la Primera B Metropolitana (Metropolitano A now).
