Having won by one-nil to Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy, el Tiburón gets promoted to Primera División.
Tonight, in a battled game in Instituto’s stadium as a neutral, closed ground inbetween Mar del Plata and Jujuy, Aldosivi, with Fernando “Teté” Quiroz, achieved promotion by winning it’s tie-off against Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy. This promotion comes also after being the team who won the most in a triangular tie off between Aldosivi, Gimnasia de Jujuy and Nueva Chicago from el Nacional B. This thwarted Chicago’s chances of following Temperley in the two-in-a-year-and-a-half streak of promotions after a good season.
The game had a silent beginning up until the 8th minute when known striker Angel Vildozo scored a header that took under the gimnasia keeper Cavalotti under surprise. After that it followed into a quiet yet struggled game with no further notable situations or controversies.
Aldosivi will be the first Mar del Plata to go into the first division in quite a while if not ever, commanded by ex Racing Club and Platense icon Fernando “Teté” Quiroz, and with well known players in the ascenso categories such as keeper Pablo Campodónico, Enrique Seccafien, or up and coming striker Angel Vildozo, who has had a brilliant season.
