Bazán Vera off, De la Riva remains as manager of Almirante Brown

Football director Daniel Bazán Vera was sacked today, and in-the-spotlight manager Felipe de la Riva will continue as Almirante Brown’s manager.

Almirante Brown’s head of football and former idol Daniel Bazán Vera has been sacked from Almirante Brown, and Felipe de la Riva will continue to be the manager even in spite of the team’s irregular performance in the tournament, as AscensoPais reported yesterday.

The reason for Bazán Vera’s sacking has been reportedly due to differences with the rest of the board as well as personal disagreements with fierce and outspoken manager Felipe de la Riva that even led to a fist fight between these two this week. Bazán Vera had been the team’s Head of Football since 2014, whilst De la Riva has been manager of La Fragata since 2013 after the resignation of predecessor Héctor “Chulo” Rivoira in 2013.
