Claudio Zacarías has been appointed as the new manager for Primera B Metropolitana side Sportivo Italiano.
The decision has been made and Zacarías has been appointed manager for Sportivo Italiano after the departure of manager Mario Rizzi and the interim period ran by Gustavo Pereyra and Pablo Hourcade as managers of el Azzurro.
Zacarías, who debuted as a player for San Lorenzo back in 1987 and retired prematurely on 1988 due to an injury caused by fireworks in a game, has won the bid to become ACIA’s manager over fan favourite Claudio Kopriva (who reportedly has his eye set on a managerial position in Barracas Central) and recently sacked manager Salvador Pasini.
He has also managed teams such as San Telmo, Atlanta, Colegiales, Deportivo Laferrere and Defensores de Cambaceres.
His arrival is also a confirmation and furthering of a reciprocity agreement (feeder club-type) between Sportivo Italiano and Boca Juniors, where he was assistant manager to the reserves manager Sergio Saturno.
