Former Newell’s old Boys, Pachuca, and Universidad de Chile midfielder Damián Manso will be signing tomorrow a contract to play for Chacarita from this moment. Hector Tore Lopez, Chacarita’s president, confirmed so this afternoon.
Manso, 35 years old, has played for Newell’s Old Boys this last season, mostly as a substitute, ailing from the same continous problem he has had through his career: he has been riddled with knee and leg injuries for some years now.
He was also part of the 2004 Winning Newell’s old Boys side as well and he did also participate in the qualifying team for the 2002 World Cup, though he did not get minutes on the field even though he was called in.
This comes as Chacarita’s first big name signing in at least two years, in an attempt to start filling the void left by the departure of players such as Lentini as well as their former manager Carlos Leeb.
