Emiliano Gianunzio signs for Platense

The 32-yr old comes from recently- promoted side Temperley.

Midfielder Emiliano “el Polaco” Gianunzio has signed for Platense as a new incorporation, coming from southern Buenos Aires Nacional B team Temperley. Gianunzio, 32 years old, has played the last two seasons for Temperley’s Ricardo Rezza side, and has achieved promotion to the Nacional B Tournament in the last season.

He has previously played in clubs such as Talleres de Córdoba (2010/2011), Aldosivi (2008/2009), a previous spell with Temperley (2006/2007), Excursionistas (2005/2006), Juventud Unida (2005/2006), San Miguel (2004/2005), Guaraní (Paraguay, 2003/2004), Arsenal de Sarandí (2003/2004) and Lanús (2000/2003) from whose youth teams he emerged from.

Gianunzio is the latest in a spree of players signed by Platense manager Sebastián Mendez, who has gone on to sign players such as Manuel Caspary, Agustin Cattaneo, striker Pablo Bueno, and Cristian “Chicha” Tavio.
