The former Defensores de Belgrano player Iván Nadal has signed to become the new central defender for the Vicente Lopez team, with a contract for 18 months.
Nicknamed “Rafa” because of his last name (“Rafa Nadal”), he has played the last four years for Defensores de Belgrano in the second spell for the team, after having played also for Huracán, FK Ventspils (Lithuania), and Aldosivi (Mar del Plata). He debuted in the Defensores de Belgrano youth teams and played there until the end of his first period on 2006.
Iván, 27 years old, comes to Platense after being relegated to the Primera C division with Defensores de Belgrano after arguably gray episode on the last week of the 2013-2014 season in Primera B Metropolitana after teams such as Colegiales and Flandria decided not to play their first teams.
He joins a beleaguered defense line, after the recent departure from the club of defender Maximiliano Barreiro, and after Facundo Talín and Gonzalo Peralta (who has now joined Riestra), who left the club mid- season after being threatened by the club’s barra brava for poor performances.
