As stated by Mundo Ascenso today, Luis “Pupi” Salmerón is signing for old team Ferrocarril Oeste.
Salmerón is a well known striker in the Nacional B and Primera B categories in Argentina, where he plays as a target man- striker, reference in the box. In Argentina, he has played for teams such as Ferrocarril Oeste (SIX spells in the same club, in different periods, since emerging from Ferro’s youth teams in 1999), Deportivo Armenio (Primera B Metropolitana, Argentina), Atlanta (Primera B Metropolitana, Argentina), Banfield (Primera División, Argentina), Independiente Rivadavia (Nacional B, Mendoza), Shanghai Shenhua (First division, China), Tigre (Primera División, Argentina), Santiago Wanderers (First Division, Chile), Talleres de Córdoba (Argentino A by now, Argentina) and Atlético Venezuela (First Division, Venezuela) before returning to Ferro.
Salmerón, now 32 years old, has won 4 titles throughout his career: three of them Primera B championship titles with Ferrocarril Oeste (2001-2002, Clausura 2002, Apertura 2003) and a Primera Division title with Banfield on 2009.
“Pupi” had been recently linked to Villa Crespo side Atlanta recently, but had been discarded due to the fact that he wasn’t one of Mayor’s favourites at that time while questions were being asked about his physical fitness to play once again in Argentina.
