Midfielder Pablo “el mudo” Ruiz has signed on for Nueva Chicago to play the Nacional B tournament for the Mataderos side.
The enganche, who emerged from the youth teams of Nueva Chicago, had been playing in Platense under the command of Sebastián Méndez. Previous to that, he had played for Godoy Cruz (back then on the Nacional B tournament), Estudiantes de Caseros, and Platense. In the 2013-2014 season he played 30 times for the Vicente Lopez team, scoring two goals.
His signing comes as one of the first Nueva Chicago signings after the hiring of Omar Labruna as manager of the Mataderos team, for a tournament which could return el Torito back to Primera División if the team were to catch one of the 10 promotions to Primera A. Ruiz’s return is seen as a good sign, if not a big name signing as the player is well known and regarded for his skill in the Nacional B and Primera B tournaments.
At the same time, it comes as a great loss to the Platense team, who under command of Mendez have lost some of their most important players from last season such as Melivilo, Talín, Peralta and Matos (who has also signed for Nueva Chicago) and whose team will also be in contention for Promotion in Primera B.
