Villa Dálmine enganche Raúl “Dudy” Pérez has signed today for UAI Urquiza.
The 34 year old enganche and idol of Villa Dálmine has left the club after almost four years, bound for one of the smallest (yet not less ambitious) UAI Urquiza team, following a strained season for the Campana team which finished avoiding relegation by the bare minimum.
The reasons for leaving Villa Dálmine? As Pérez had stated before, first of all he felt his cycle at the Campana Club was over back in January, and was itching to play somewhere closer to his home (Ezeiza, barely an hour and a half- two hours away from his home, whilst UAI Urquiza is an hour and a half at most away from the southern corner of Gran Buenos Aires). Also, rumors have emerged regarding a lack of feeling between the player and his manager (Sergio Rondina) because of tactical reasons: he mainly prefers to play without an enganche, but with a line of four in midfield, giving a higher priority to players like Lucas Ferreiro instead of Dudy. Ironically, rumors are that Ferreiro will be leaving the club as well.
“Dudy” has also played for Atlanta, Douglas Haig, Talleres (Remedios de Escalada) and finally Villa Dálmine. He is the third UAI Urquiza signing along with Jorge Fernández and Cristian Cepeda.
