The striker, 29 years old, joins Nueva Chicago as their newest (and first incorporation).
Matos has joined the Mataderos team as the first incorporation after hiring Omar Labruna as its new manager (after Guede’s departure for Chile’s Palestino). For Sebastián, 2014 has been a complicated season as Platense fell short at the Promotion playoffs final against Temperley by defining on penalty shots, after winning in the same way against Atlanta in the semi-finals. He lost his place in the starting line up due to injuries and a bad scoring streak, while losing his place in the team to Daniel Vega and Facundo Melivilo becoming Platense’s lead strikers.
This last season he only got to play on the starting line up only once.
Brother to San Lorenzo’s Mauro, Sebastián Matos has played for Comunicaciones, Chacarita, Huachipato (Chile), Dorados de Sinaloa (Mexico), Atlanta, Los Andes, Brown de Adrogué and Barracas Central. He hasn’t either won promotion or been relegated in any of those teams.
