Former Fenix player Joaquín Marcos has joined Barracas Central for the next season.
Marcos, 24 years old, has played midfielder for Fénix the last season, acting as an enganche up until the end of the tournament for the Pilar team, playing against Temperley for the semi final. He player 27 games (started 26 of these) and scored 12 goals for Fénix last season.
His bid comes as a surprise, as Barracas Central has heavily reinforced in this transfer window, by adding Alfredo Abalos, Juan Manuel Casini and Luis Monge in just a week after the market opening, posing themselves as a candidate for the playoff spots in this transitional tournament.
On Fénix’s side, the Pilar team has suffered major losses on its roster, as Marcos Riquelme has left for Palestino (Chile), Mariano Puch and Adrian Torres have left for Atlanta and Leonardo “Cachete” Ruiz may be signed for Defensores de Belgrano. They will be hosting trials for “free players with a B metro, B Nacional or Primera Division past, and from year 1986 on forward” at Eventos Cantilo, Villa de Mayo.
