Chacarita presents their new 2015 Kit

The San Martin team presented its new Joma- made kits, but not without controversy. Find out more.

It had not been long ago since we had announced that Chacarita would be switching its clothing from Athix to Joma, and thus, yesterday, the new kits were presented for the 2015 season.

The event was held this thursday in Parque Yrigoyen in San Martin, in a location near the General Paz (close to Capital Federal), where in a private event, Chacarita presented its new kits in front of a small crowd. This marks the beginning of Joma’s work in front of the newly promoted Chacarita Juniors to the Nacional B, a team that has drawn large crowds even in spite of their downfall from Primera División down to Primera B Metropolitana in the last few years.

Pretty standard so far, right? Wrong, as Joma presented not only the home kit but the clothing for the goalkeepers as well, and the first model to be introduced was on blue and yellow colors, yes, you guessed it: the colors of Chaca’s arch rival Atlanta. There were many reactions over the internet, and to quell with the situation, chairman Hector “Tore” Lopez was forced to clarify that (as he states) Joma never spoke about a blue-and-yellow kit but other colors instead (cyan, and fluorescent green instead) out of a screenshot of his own cellphone with the message from Joma.

Some mistake, huh? A mishap, surely, the kit in question should be changed over the week.
