It was a short lived spell for the former AAAJ man, who left the Flandria team after yesterday’s defeat.
It was short for Fabián de Sarasqueta: after only six games, in which he earned two draws and four defeats, the Canario manager announced his resignation to the Flandria board after what looks like a streak of games without winning that would not end. In particular, yesterday’s one-nil defeat against relegation rivals Colegiales, with a goal by Federico Mateos.
De Sarasqueta’s continuity had been in doubt since the last defeat, the previous week against Atlanta, by three-nil. Nevertheless he was given full confidence to turn the situation around. So far there has been no indication of who the new manager will be.
After his resignation was handed in, De Sarasqueta (@desarasquetaDT) published the following tweet:
Quiero agradecerles a todos los dirigentes y a toda la gente de @CSyDFlandria su incondicional apoyo permanente Un saludo y mil disculpas !!

“I want to thank the whole board and the people of Flandria, for their unconditional and permanent support. Goodbye, and a thousand apologies”
