The former Tigre manager was called away from his position at Argentino de Merlo to take charge of the Caseros team.
It didn’t take long after the resignation of Fabián Anselmo, who was in charge of the Caseros team for almost two years, to find a suitable replacement, and the Estudiantes’ board hired Juan Carlos Kopriva to take charge, prying him away from Merlo.
Kopriva, 51 years old nowadays, has managed in the category before as well, having directed teams such as Tigre (whilst in the Nacional B category), Temperley (whilst in Primera B Metropolitana), Sportivo Italiano (Primera B Metropolitana), Deportivo Merlo (Primera B Metropolitana), Barracas Central (whilst in Primera C Metropolitana), Brown (Adrogué) (Primera B Metropolitana) and Argentino de Merlo (Primera C Metropolitana) previously. He has won only one title, the 2009-2010 promotion to Primera B Metropolitana with Barracas Central.
Estudiantes nowadays lies in the fourth position from the bottom, with two wins, five draws and four losses in eleven games so far.
