The former Nueva Chicago and Estudiantes de Buenos Aires man signed for the Villa Crespo team.
A category signing for the Villa Crespo team: former Nueva Chicago and Estudiantes de Caseros central midfielder Julio César Serrano has signed for the promotion- seeking Sialle team as the third to last signing of the season.
He regularly plays as a playmaker midfielder in the middle with a tight sense of defense and pressing.
The midfielder, now 33 years old, had been on the fringe of the first team due to differences with the -by then- president of Estudiantes, Patricio Isla Casares, who had earmarked him and other players as conflictive, promising they would not play anymore for the team nor they would be released from it. Such as it is, Serrano has put himself at the disposition of Sialle, yet he has cleared out that he was lacking training and he wasn’t called up to the Estudiantes pre-season.
Serrano has played for Sacachispas (Primera C Metropolitana), Nueva Chicago (Primera División, three spells), Almagro (Primera B Metropolitana), Instituto de Córdoba (Nacional B), Slovan Bratislava (Slovakia) and Estudiantes de Buenos Aires (Primera B Metropolitana). He has gained two promotions with Nueva Chicago: from Primera B Metropolitana to the Nacional B on the 2011-2012 season, and previously from the Nacional B to Primera División in the 2008-2009 season.
