The former Kopriva assistant manager takes over after the departure of Salvador Daniele.
And… it didn’t take long for “Chiqui” Tapia to decide and hire a new manager after the departure of Salvador Daniele (which we announced yesterday) and it came to Marcelo Barrera.
Barrera had been the assistant manager for revered club icon Juan Carlos Kopriva (who was in charge of the club before Daniele took over), and had achieved promotion to the Primera B with Kopriva in 2010. Up until now, Barrera had been managing some of the Los Andes youth teams and is well seen in accordance with his time in the club.
Barrera comes with his own staff: Marcelo Blanco (Assistant Manager), Alejandro Espósito (Fitness coach) and Pablo Lambermont (in charge of the reserve team) while Darío Herrera will keep on his goalkeeping coaching duties as before.
Other candidates for the position had been Anibal Biggeri (recently resigned from Chacarita Juniors), Sebastián Méndez (recently resigned from Gimnasia de Jujuy) and Gabriel Manzini.
