Following a string of bad results in this tournament, the Platense Manager hands in his resignation.
It hadn’t been long since Roque Alfaro (or “El brujo” as he had commonly been known) had taken the helm at Platense, and now, almost four months after taking the position, has handed in his resignation to the Platense board after a heady start of a tournament that sees Platense away from the leading teams, in five weeks, after three draws, two losses and no wins. It had gone as it follows:
2-3 loss against Almirante Brown.
One-one draw against Estudiantes (BA).
One-nil loss against Deportivo Riestra.
Nil-nil draw with Acassuso.
Nil-nil draw with Barracas Central.
This episode leads to Alfaro being the second manager to resign in the Primera B Metropolitana in the year, only after Guillermo Szezurak’s “non renewal” at Deportivo Riestra.
Following the Alfaro period, his assistant manager, Pedro Bocca (placed by the board), will remain in command of the Vicente López team for the time being.
