Primera División icon Walter Erviti has surprisingly joined Federal A outfit Alvarado.
Possibly the shock of the transfer market this summer in Argentina: veteran midfielder Walter Erviti, fresh out of his contract in Independiente de Avellaneda (right after falling out with manager Ariel Holan and after winning the Copa Sudamericana), has upset the apple cart by joining Mar del Plata team Alvarado, currently in a high bid to reach the Nacional B from the Federal A tournament. If so, it would join rival team Aldosivi in the category.
This shall be the first stint for Erviti (now 38 years old) in lower leagues, in spite of being a life long fan of Alvarado, and he has played for Primera División teams such as Boca Juniors, Independiente, San Lorenzo and Banfield, as well as Monterrey and Atlante in Mexico.
